I need a portable generator and wanted to buy an American-made product. As near as I can tell, Generax more or less fills that bill. My contractor unloaded the XG7000E and did not see any damage; the packaging was intact. However when he began to set it up the vent plate covering the generator fell off. It is held to the unit by screws that go through two metal posts that come out from the generator and both posts had been sheared off at the generator end; there was a dent on the vent plate. At some point the unit had been hit pretty hard by something. I bought it from Norwall, they told me to contact a Generax dealer. Generax told me it was a problem of concealed damage and I must contact the trucking company. The trucking company told me it was a problem for Norwall. None of the principles is taking responsiblity for this: Generax, NEMF, Norwall and I am stuck with a broken, nearly $1300 generator. Probably duct tape will hold the vent plate... It was very easy to assible, just had to attach the wheels and add oil (which was included). I tested it a few times under load with no problems. Just recently we lost power of 7 days due to a snow storm. We logged 90.2 hours on the generator...ran it up to 10 hours without shutting it down. This machine worked perfectly, powered everything in the house (I even did a load of laundry...but did not use the dryer). Best investment we've ever made!I would highly recommend this unit! |
